A New Chapter for Good Drinks: Important Update Inside
A new place where you can explore the world of nonalcoholic beverages
You thought you wouldn’t hear from me again, didn’t you? That’s reasonable—I did say farewell and all—but I’m popping in one last time to share some exciting news: High Spirits is taking over!
What does that mean? First, in case you’re unfamiliar, High Spirits is another newsletter run by people who share our passion for alcohol-free beverages. It’s part of Dry Atlas, a directory of alcohol alternatives founded by the wife-and-husband duo behind Spirited Away, America’s first booze-free bottle shop. (You can fact-check that claim. It’s true!) I’ve followed Douglas and Victoria Watters for years, and if anyone can help you stay smart about the ever-evolving world of nonalcoholic drinks, it’s them.
Now, for the taking over part: This just means that, from this point forward, you’ll receive High Spirits content instead of Good Drinks. If you don’t want to, you can opt out by unsubscribing via the link at the bottom of this email, but if you stay on, you’ll receive a free weekly newsletter with industry insights and trends, exclusive founder interviews, and easy-to-make drink recipes.
I miss chatting with you all, but I’m excited for what the future holds for this community in the hands of the Dry Atlas team. Onward!

By the way, you can still get Good Drinks, the book version, which is where it all started. (Well, it started with a lot of articles I wrote and interviews I did, but Good Drinks was the thing that, as one magazine editor told me recently when I was feeling down, “received accolades and also inspired and helped people in a meaningful, significant way—and continues to do so.” My bad mood is not important here—it’s boring, frankly!—but the point is that the book still slaps after three years.)
Yessssss! Here for all of this. “Welcome” back!
